RON SANTIANO

Growing up in Southern California, Ron occupioed his spare-time with a passion for drawing and scale model-building. And then, Star Wars arrived! It was the universe of a galaxy far, far away that sparked his interest in film. Dreaming of creating a Star Wars-like saga of his own some day, he went into acting in the mid to late eighties. But soon discovered his interest grew more behind the camera.

In the interim, Ron had continued his other artistic interests. He has become a successful artist with collectors buying original paintings and prints from several galleries. Ron has been with Ferguson Fine Art & Design in Pomona, Cailfornia for over 10 years. In those 10 years, Ron has also published his very own Fashion/Lifestyle publication called FLIP magazine which ran nationally for a few years while working as an Art Director for Universal Studios Hollywood during the day.

It was at Universal that he decided to persue filmmaking once and for all. After learning that The New York Film Academy had a school on the lower lot. Ron quit his cozy, well paying job. Moved back home for two years just to go to film school. And Ron never looked back at that life-altering decision.

His film school projects garnered him impressive accolades from his instructor & class mates. It was soon after that he started working on other independent projects, that led to creating Redcape Cinema.

Today, after several awards and notable festival screenings, Redcape Cinema has developed a following around the world that has led to creating original projects like, EVE: Beauty and The Blade, Code-Name: Dragonfly, and recently created The Chronicles of The Order - a prequel series to EVE: Beauty and The Blade. Outside of his own projects, Ron has been sought after as a feature film editor by other production companies. in 2007 edited the award-winning indie feature Junction for Women on Top Productions, available on Netflix. Recently completed editing his second major feature, a comedy - Underachievers by award winning director, DB Cheng. Ron directed a film noir style short film, Gimme Bang Bang for award winning playwright, Jeannie Barroga. in the begnning of 2011, Ron was hired to edit his first television broadcast project, Almighty Thor for the Syfy Channel. Recent;ly, Ron won 5 awards for Best Editing, Best Cinematography, Best Director, Best Action Feature & Best Action Short at the UnderDogs Film Festival in Houston, Texas.

Ron just completed the 3rd chapter to the Chronicles of the Order series titled Xander's Path, now available on DVD. The next major film productions under the Redcape Cinema banner for 2012, is the 'Grind-House' inspired Venus Fly-Trap. Then slated for a possible Spring/Summer 2012 production is the Young EVE film - a prequel feature to EVE: Beauty and The Blade. And third on deck, is the romantic drama, 'What will you do for Love?...' With the sexy spy thriller feature film version of Code Name: Dragonfly to follow and the next exciting sequel to the EVE: The Movie Trilogy entitled - Beauty & The Blade: Battle for Angel City.
